I still haven't seen the 1994 movie. May have to make time for it in the future.

Me neither. I mean, for 90s movie it looks like a 80s movie. So even at that time it still looked bad. Not that 80s movies look bad, but come on. It's not the 80s anymore and it looks like this? Also they never made it officially available. I'm against pricy, but you have no choice with this movie.

Ironically, the transfer for that release is terrible.
This upscale is much better:

Great news imo. I know it probably won't happen but hope they get Brad Bird. He made the most fun Mission Impossible movie and well The Incredibles..

Brad Bird is not a bad choice, however, Tomorrowland and The Incredibles 2 kinda soured me.

If it's Star Trek inspired, can we expect J.J. Abrams to fill the directors chair?

If they announce J.J. Abrams as the director I will watch the ensuing meltdowns.

Ever since the news broke out that Feige wants a more established director for Fantastic Four, people became concerned about Feige's involvement with the MCU now. Because if you read the reports, he is not overseeing the MCU like he use to. But I've been saying that since WandaVision. There seems to be more producers working on these MCU projects now since Feige is too busy looking at the overall picture. This may explain why Phase Four quality has be inconsistent. Don't get me wrong, I love Phase Four. But I can see what some fans are talking about. The way I see it is that Feige already told the stories what wants to tell. Now he want a more comic industry working environment. Don't like everything in Phase Four? Too bad. Just like comics, you don't have to love or buy everything.
