Doctor Sleep is a great sequel to The Shining, although I still think they should've deepfaked Jack Nicholson's face onto the Bartender.

It is debatbale. Stephen King is not a fan of the original Shining. Due to The Shining being a metaphor for alcoholism, but Stanley Kubrick shyed away from that. Doctor Sleep director admitted he had to direct the movie where it was somehow both canon to the novels and movies as well.

Antrum I really do get what they where trying to do with this, but Antrum doesn't work. Would it have been better if they had focused on the film part and not have bothered with documentary part and the hidden symbols. Possibly, as it the story of older sister helping her younger brother deal with the death of their pet dog, only to stumble across backwoods serial killers. That could have been a good film in of itself 2/5

I could add a dozen more horror films to add in support of this argument. Like Tremors, Two Evil Eyes, Tales From The Darkside: The Movie, The People Under The Stairs, The Resurrected, Cronos, Body Bags, Return Of The Living Dead 3, New Nightmare, Tales From The Hood, From Dusk Till Dawn, Cube and Mimic.

Malatestaβs Carnival of Blood This is a weird movie. The carnival setting is a nasty, grimy run down crap hole mixed with an outsider, pop-art exhibition run by creepy weirdos and a small army of ghouls. The plot is nearly there, as a family start working at the carnival to find out what happened to a missing mender of the family. And that's it, the movie is less about the story and more about the mood and atmosphere. Witch, it excels at, as the characters run screaming through an endless series of dirty rooms that seem to be contacted at random. This might make an excellent double feature with Messiah of Evil as both are weird arty horrors that are almost arthouse. 3/5

Clowns aren't scary. If they were then we'd be scared of all the clowns over at blu.

Never found clowns scary either. I get the phobia, but I don't know. I'm not going to overreact about it.

Watching Killer's Moon is something, I could see what the filmmakers were going for. But, they did fail at it. A mix of A Clockwork Orange, Straw Dogs and The Last House On The Left. It's nowhere as good as the movies it's copying.
The music sucks, at times really sounds silly when it should be tenser. A jazz version of The Three Stooges theme plays over a young woman getting cashed by a manic. Doesn't work, surprisingly. Not helping are the actors' hammy performances. The young women are acting like in there in a bland sitcom while the actors playing the killers are acting like it's a posh play. None of them are very good.
2/5

Wonder if Little Shop of Horrors could be considered a horror movie. I know the 80s one is musical but the alternate ending with the giant plants destroying everything is pretty close to what some could consider horror. I know there's an older one but I barely remember it (the 80s one is the only one I watch) so I have no idea if the older one was less comedic or not.

Freakshow (1989) A every uneven movie if there ever was one. Starting off with a mass shooting and how the news media thieves off tragedy, then gose into a goofy comedy and sexy music video, the back to darkness with a woman in a drug induce coma going through her own autopsy. Then ending with comedy as zombies drive good carts at rich people. Yes, this is a real movie. 2/5

Watched Night Of The Ghouls last night. Nothing like a deliberate attempt comedy from Ed Wood. Going watch Werewolf By Night before bed.

A good tribute to old school monster movies and Marvel's horror comics. I think the shorter run time help here as it bogged down by unfunny or unlikable side characters.
It was nice to see an actual Wolfman again, last time was the Wolfman remake from 2010. It would have been cool, if it was a guy done up in special effects make up rather than CGI.
It was nice to see Man-Thing.
