Back in 1988, Don Mancini wrote a script for a film called "Batteries Not Included" about a murderious doll who comes to life after a boy named Andy accidently mixes his own blood with it's fake blood.

After it was bought by United Artists, they hired John Lafia to rewrite the script to make Andy more sympathetic.

He also created the character of Charles Lee Ray and the entire subplot of him transfering his soul into a Good Guy doll, not to mention coining the name "Chucky".

John Lafia would then later go on to direct Child's Play 2, a sequel which many fans agree to be even better than the first and one of the best films in the franchise.

While Don Mancini would go on to write nearly all the films afterwards, none of them ever credited John Lafia for creating Chucky. Not even the 2019 remake.

And people would go on to praise the Child's Play franchise of still being under the man who created Chucky.

With his tragic suicide last year and him still not being credited on the new show "Chucky (2021), the lack of credit for his work is an absolute travesty.

And I for one don't want this to be a "Bob Kane/Bill Finger Batman" situation where both men have to be dead in order for the person really behind the character to be credited.

Give John Lafia the credit he deserves.
