I feel like something must be done. We just can't leave people out there in the streets. But at the same time, you shouldn't just trust them either. My friend's French teacher got his throat sliced and murdered for doing that. Also my friend himself was homeless at times as well. I tried to help him, but it was extremely difficult. But that's another story for another time. But yeah, I feel like a hypocrite because I'm saying something should be done, but I'm part of the problem as well.

Some of them want to be out there. They are building a new shelter here, that will have 24/7 access and laundry. Currently the shelters only operate at night unless it is cold. Again the richest nation in the world should not have these issues, unless people choose to live this way.

The city is now looking for land to build tiny houses. Why would they wait until the end of August? Just worthless.

This is going to the worst thing I'll ever say here, but homeless won't ever end. Sure, there will be things to lessen the impact of it, but won't stop it. No amount of affordable housing will stop people from getting addicted to drink and drugs, mental illness, money problems, kids following out won't their parents or natural disasters. As well as, sadly enough, some people choosing to be homeless. For reasons that are beyond me, some just like that as a lifestyle.

Those without a choice should have proper resources.

I saw a video of homeless prevention vents in New York. Basically in the colder weather, homeless people would sleep on the metal vents that release warmth from under the street. So they raised it and made it a twisted shape and had metal parts stick out so the homeless are forced to sleep and die in the cold. It's on Youtube somewhere. Crazy shit.

It would seem it would be easy to solve this homeless issue. Yet some people want to be out there.

I'm just saying, I think there are some exceptions. But really hard to tell because a lot of them are drug addicts or schizos, but in some cases I think some just have bad luck or made poor choices in life. Drug addicts or schizos need help too, but they are way riskier. They need to seek professional help. If they refuse to, then oh well. Can't help everyone, nor will I put my family and friends lives at risk.
