When people say the comic book industry is dying, they mistakenly think that there is cohesion. The Comic Industry is not a thing, because there are no set guidelines. There are no rules. What they really should be saying is Marvel and DC are flooding the market. Then not doing enough as the market leaders to revitalize the market. Other studios and publishers are thriving through crowdfunding and conventions. People need to actually walk into a shop or go to a small convention and see what is actually happening. There is more out there than X-men and Batman.

Despite the success of comic book movies, truth is, people are still not all that into superheroes and comics. DC and Marvel seem to be the only exception, due to the impact they have made in our western culture and all the lore. This is why I don't believe in superhero fatigue per se. People will most watch characters they care about. So not much has changed really.

Marvel and DC desperately need to go to quality over quantity. Marvel right now, has 51 comics out this month. 17 are Spider-Man related. DC has 44, 19 are Batman related. Too many comics that relies heavily on their top characters. And people finding it confusing trying to start reading these comics.
