Honestly, I kinda like how he actually looks like he was burned by acid. But I hate the 2nd rate Heath Ledger impersonation though.....
edit: In retrospect though, the realistic design is overrated Joker-wise.

The scene reminds me so much of Manhunter.

How many active live action Jokers are there, 3 or 4?

How many active live action Jokers are there, 3 or 4? Active in that they are alive or active in that the show/movies still going on?

I know they are working on a script for Joker 2, but I agree with you. I don't think that means the sequel will be greenlit. I think WB is just winging it (no pun intended) with the script to see what comes out of it.

I love The Batman. I mean I really love it. I think it's a masterpiece of noir. But I don't care for that interpretation of Joker one bit. I wish it would have been removed entirely.

.....eh...It's a better realistic depiction that TDK's Joker. But at this point, I just wish they have a more comic Joker for once and not try to ape Heath Ledger all over again.

Well, this is interesting. Matt Reeves says that the Joker in the deleted scene is "not yet the Joker":

Not sure what he means that he isn't Joker yet. He already has that smile, is piled, and a manipulative psychopath. My only guess is he hasn't earned the title of The Clown Prince of Crime just yet.

I suppose he means level of insanity. The Joker in The Batman seemed pretty tame and composed. I expect his sanity will slip.

I thought he already was insane. He only seems to be under control in this movie because he's locked up and isn't as obsessed with Batman just yet since they known each other for very little time.

Like I said, he's more composed and calculating. He'll probably let his sanity slip further and become more like the Joker.
