I consider Star Wars to be more fantasy than sci-fi, and for this thread I'll consider comic book super hero movies to be their own genre.
1. Blade Runner 2. The Fifth Element 3. Alien 4. RoboCop 5. Tron/Tron: Legacy 6. Ghost in the Shell (2017) 7. Alita: Battle Angel (2019) 8. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets 9. Total Recall 10. The Last Starfighter

I totally agree. I consider Star Wars more of a fantasy. Which is why I don't get why people wanted Steven Spielberg to direct a Star Wars movie and get confused when he said that it's not his genre. I was like, are you guys kidding? How do you compare something as fantastical as Star Wars to films like Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Minority Report? -_-
Besides, Star Wars is too episodic for me to add on the list anyway.

This is when things get really complicated. I bet you'd say The Thing is horror, but you have Alien on your list. 🤔

Alien seems more sci-fi than The Thing. Alien has space ships, futuristic computers, hibernation chambers, and a robot. The Thing is excellent, but more of a monster movie. But everyone's list is their own.

Still less sci-fi than Alien. We find out the Thing came from an alien ship, but we never see more than that. The majority of the runtime, it's just a bunch of guys in the snow vs a monster. Just my opinion.

Fun Fact: The Thing is an incomplete story.
