A thread to share what you've done recently.
Earlier today I cleaned and polished up a 1979 Japanese 10 Yen coin. It was dark and dirty but now it's shining and I can see my reflection in it. It's also the very first time I've successfully shined a coin up to that standard.

I've been through some Gameboy Color roms to see if there are any games I don't already own that I will probably enjoy on my modded Gameboy, and I have found a few that will do nicely for my collection. So I'll add them to my list of ones to buy.

Cleaned a few more coins to a shiny standard and re-did the Japanese 10 Yen coin since it still looked a bit dirty on the "10" so I polished it with more pressure than last time and now it's even shinier than before. I've put it in a clear protective case so it doesn't get dirty and keeps nice and shiny, along with the others.
Also downloaded a playlist of over 700 music videos from Youtube to my desktop in a folder, and slowly went through them all to find new music that I like the sound of and simply deleted the ones I didn't like. I have found this a very proficient way to discover new music I like without waiting on the slim chance that something I like plays on a radio in a store at the time I'm in there, even then I wouldn't know what it was called unless the radio announcer said what it was once the song ends.
But I've been looking at a specific genre of music, and prior to the 700 playlist, I've already been through a 1100 playlist and also a 140 playlist, so I've been through nearly 2000 songs of the same genre and found a few good ones I like. But they are few and far between. For example, out of the 1100 playlist, I didn't find ANY song I liked. In the 140 playlist, I only found 2, and in the 700 playlist I only found 4 songs I liked.
But, I'd much rather go through the music on my desktop offline because it is instantaneous to skip the track forward, whereas if I streamed it on Youtube it'd buffer before it loaded where I skipped to. Plus if it's already downloaded, I already have it, don't need to waste time re-downloading.

I've been actively holding off on playing my collection of Gameboy/Color games until I've managed to wade through some TV Shows on my backlog, but I'm kind of stuck on the Ranma anime. See, I'm someone who likes to finish a show once I start it, but little did I realize that Ranma doesn't have much story progression at all, in fact I got annoyed that each episode wasn't providing any character arc progression so I decided to research it a bit more and realized that the anime actually has no resolution, and to an extent the manga it is based on doesn't either, it has a bit of a conclusion in the manga but it doesn't tie up all loose ends.
As a result, I've kinda been avoiding watching more episodes because I know it's just going to be more of the same with no payoff at the end, but at the same time, I don't want to outright quit the anime since I don't actually hate the anime itself (with the exception of a character or two).
So, with the GTA VI trailer releasing, I decided fuck it, and I got my Gameboy Color GTA 1 game, selected a female character and played through until I reached Vice City. Of course the game is limited.. it doesn't spawn many NPC characters or vehicles. So, I moved onto GTA 2 on Gameboy Color, which had plenty of NPCs and cars spawned, perfect.
I got curious, so I looked up to see if there was a full map of the Gameboy Color GTA 2 maps since I had heard that the maps were a bit different from the PC/PS1 versions. Could not find any image of the full maps at all.
So.. instead of watching Ranma, I'm currently ripping the maps from GTA 2 on Gameboy Color. The maps are massive, and because I cannot disable object collision in the game, there are certain areas of the map I cannot rip and must fill in the gaps with guesswork. I've already spent 2 days ripping the first of the 3 maps in the game, and I'm not even close to being halfway done. This is something I'm doing in my spare time though, and it'll all be ripped eventually.
Just wish there was a way to disable collision, it would make for a more accurate map.

Well, I've been working hard on web comic. I'm nearly done with this one panel, which I was worried about doing. Mostly because it's one of the most complicated pics, I've done. Can't wait to show it off.
Done my Christmas shopping and I'm nearly done with wrapping it all up. Quite pleased with that.
In my free time, I have watching a few films to get my best and worst list, for the year, to decent number.
