FFS, is it that damn hard to just make a story set FULLY in the future war setting? Why are they wasting money on animating the same regurgitated story they've been doing since T2?
Salvation is just aging better and better as time goes on.

Salvation is just aging better and better as time goes on. I understand this issue, it is one I have with the franchise.
I'd suggest to you, to seek out these 3 books:
I've personally only read the 3rd one, and am still seeking out the first 2 books myself. However, I have left a review for the 3rd book here:
Trust me as someone who knows EXACTLY the issue you have with the franchise, if you read my review you will probably want to check these books out. I personally recommend the third one at least. It brings everything full circle.

At least it isn't messing with the original story again. I'll reserve my full thoughts when they show an actual trailer.

They really need to let go of time-travel. That's why I really appreciate that the newer Planet of the Apes were able to retell the same stories again (though, they are still greatly different) without the use of time-travel.
