Oh. From the title I was sort of expecting something like the movie Bicentennial Man but in reverse. Going from human to robot.
Although that movie does include artificial organs, and an artificial human would have artificial organs for donoring.

Yeah some people are already mentioning Bicentennial Man in the comment section.

It could be great for donors. A lot of people aren't willing to sign the waver to allow their organs to be harvested for other people to use. So growing them artificially, now that could be very beneficial.

Yeah as a science guy, I heard about something like that 15-20 years ago. Didn't hear it since then, except that it is possible.

I mean.. I don't particularly understand why this news is new, because IIRC isn't there a 40-50 year old person who was created in a science lab, i.e. no parents? So giving birth to an artificial human has already happened. I guess now they chose to revisit it.

I heard nothing about that. All I know is, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe they did it on animals already and slightly hinted that the same can be done for humans as well. SLIGHTLY. I don't think scientists want to come off as morbid about it.
