When you have a country where firearms are legal, there are bound to be people who will use them for evil deeds. Here in the UK we don't really have guns readily available to purchase. We do have hunting air rifles though for rats and pigeons, but the ammunition are just pellets.

A gun should be regulated like a car. There are some states where you do not have to report of your gun is lost or stolen.
The US spends more money on military than any other country, what is being defended?

The catch 22 presents itself. You have to have guns because of freedom, yet guns are used to kill people, taking any freedom they had away. Seems like an issue that could be resolved but too much money is involved to back out anytime soon.
