Just when I thought the Pinocchio live action remake set the bar to the new lowest, they manage to make it even lower.

Well, he can't look any worse than the MCU Hercules when in full costume, right? Guess we'll find out. I don't particularly trust Disney to do a good job here. Their previous efforts have been low quality as of late. Wish they'd bring back their hand drawn 2D animation and make some new IPs in that style, like they used to do. But it's either live action or a CGI animation fest nowadays. Which is fine, it just takes out some of the artistry and effort that goes into them. But they are also going ahead with that live action Snow White movie as well, and all signs are pointing to yikes on that one. The ONLY project they are making that seems like it MIGHT be decent, is the live action Lilo & Stitch movie, so far that project seems to be okay, the casting seems good so far and as long as they don't fuck it up, it might be a good one, a gold nugget in the river of shit.

One of my problems with these Disney remakes is that they don't capture the scope of the originals. Animated Aladdin = Epic. live-action Aladdin = ABC TV movie. Don't remake them if you are not going to put in the money to scale it up.

The thing is, because the originals are hand drawn animated, and they were made in times when all this PC agenda BS didn't exist, the result was a quality piece of animation with a magical story that had charm to it. Remaking it to live action, takes away that charm, takes out the artistry of hand-drawn animation, and in quite a few cases the acting is worse or the writing is worse or the jokes are altered/replaced and aren't funny.
For example, find one person who finds Will Smith's genie from Aladdin to be better in every way to Robin Williams' genie. If you do, you will have found someone in a minority.

Disney could do better if they really wanted to, but they seem intent on either making complete shit or remaking stuff without love care or effort. Nobody asked for a remake of Hercules. Yet I've seen so many people want a movie sequel to Monsters Inc, to see what happens next after the final shot of the movie.
But Disney would rather give people what they don't want. Eventually they'll lose money (they already are) and will have to either change tactics or go bankrupt.

I don't know why they are making Snow White. I remember we had two or three Snow White movies within the same year not too long ago. I know Disney have the rights to the songs, but nobody gives shit.

It's just one more thing that nobody asked for, because it already exists in multiple forms.
See this is why I think they would do better to focus more on adapting stuff that hasn't already been adapted. If they can't come up with anything original like they used to do that's fine, but they don't have to regurgitate their own library for a quick buck either.
For example, a recent book I read called "A Spell For Chameleon" by Piers Anthony, a book published in 1977, and has over 42 sequel books, and is a perfect IP that Disney could adapt into a story, putting the charm into it and keeping out radical agendas and messages that nobody wants forced onto them.
You can read my review of that book in the "what have you been reading?" thread in the book section of the forum, where I cover what the book is about. It could serve Disney as something technically original since even though it is in the fantasy genre like the newly released Dungeons & Dragons movie, it is still its own thing and has not been adapted previously. It's just one example, especially with people asking for more fantasy/adventure style movies, it's also giving folks what they want whilst providing something relatively new AND introducing people to the books as well.
I suppose in a sense it would be similar to their Black Cauldron animated movie, that too, I have watched people talk about that movie and how they like those styles of storytelling.
But you know, you'll get Toy Story 5, you'll get a remake of everything before Disney bothers to grow a brain cell.

I wonder if this will piss off the Greeks, or will they be to busy with their country's economic problems to give a shit?

It's all rumor. I guess with the release of that Snow White image with the dwarves it's caused some folks to churn out these articles for clicks.
