It would be so cool to have a terrorist group capture some aliens and teach them to attack on command using a laser pointer.

Dominion has dinos that attack a target from a laser pointer. Shit's getting old fast already.

They turned dinos into giant pussies. Literally, cats are the ones that follow and chase laser pointers.

It appears there was almost an Aliens animated series.

Ugh, the sole mention of the "first two films" makes me feel like it's just gonna regurgitate them slopply and not actually care about the franchise beyond those two.

Yeah it annoys me when franchises do that. That's kinda one of the main problems with the Terminator franchise. They can not stop trying doing a direct sequel to T2. Like, stop it. Move forward. Stop it with the T2 "follow ups". It is so ironic too since these T2 "follow up" try to ignore Rise of the Machines for being bad, yet, Rise of the Machines is actually better than any of the Terminator movies after.

Because there is not much to do with the story. Someone goes back in time to do x, someone else is sent back to do y. It is circular. With Alien when you start to reveal to much it becomes pointless. There are somethings that should remain a mystery to make it more terrifying. You have a giant shipped filled with eggs, we do not need to know where it comes from.
