I think some are not realizing that the whole "anchor being" concept is kinda a metaphor. Spidey may be the most iconic and popular Marvel superhero ever, but made very little impact on the existence of the MCU.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't making Peter the "anchor being of the MCU and without him universe would be fucked" the complete antithesis of his character?
Not to mention being what people hated TASM for but on coked up steriods
