A bit to unpack with this one as expected. After a superb, visually creative opening action sequence, there are a few rough patches early on. Once the Wolverine variant is established and the buddy dynamic kicks in, the movie is an absolute blast. The ball-busting between Wade and Logan is every bit as good as one would hope, they get as much mileage out of the premise as possible. Both actors remain fiercely committed to these roles. Hugh Jackman fits right back into the role like he never left, while also having the most fun he's ever had with it. Ryan Reynolds also hasn't missed a beat with the comedic timing. While maybe a step down from the action scenes in Deadpool 2, there's still no shortage of satisfying ultraviolence on display. The various cameos serve a purpose and help move the story forward (at least for the most part). The film also doesn't lose sight of its predecessors' heart and soul. Cassandra Nova is not a top-tier villain by any means but she's intimidating enough and well-acted. The plot on paper is pretty basic but it's elevated by the execution.
Although, given that the relationship between Wade and Vanessa was the focal point of the previous films, I find it baffling that they pretty much completely threw it out. The movie has a lot to juggle (character arcs for Wade and Logan, the basic setup, TVA baggage, the various cameos, the villain) and therefore it can feel a little scattershot. The pacing is also uneven, it's lightning fast at times, and a bit meandering at other times. There's a very cool one-take fight sequence in the climax that also feels completely random. The majority of the humor works well, but there's the occasional misfire at times.
While this is just as entertaining as the previous 2 Deadpool films, I think it falls a bit short of those as an overall movie (the theatrical cut of 2 is my favorite). Even with some faults, the movie still accomplished exactly what it set out to do. It delivered a highly entertaining, often hilarious ride and an electric theatrical experience. To be honest, I'm not sure how well it's going to age over time, but for now it gets an 8/10.

Yeah read about this in the leaks like last year. They were suppose to be the Multiverse Prime Team. However, they seem to have axe'd this idea and reduced it to just having cameos.

I liked how they got Nathan Fillion to voice Headpool. I always pictured Headpool having a slightly different personality in the comics. I mean, in the comics, Headpool is exactly like regular Deadpool, but a bit more mellow. Probably due to missing his zombie body, which is why he doesn't crave human flesh. Unless he got it back anyway.

Which implies that Deadpool himself saved the Fox-Verse, not the Wolverine variant per se.

That moment when you realized Shawn Levy directed this scene years ago...

That moment when you realized even animators nerd out behind the scenes on one of Hugh Jackman's movies...

I just realized something. Is Deadpool going to make an X2 refernce with the song "Bye Bye Bye", or is that just a coincedence?
