I was already superhero fatigued before it was cool. No but seriously. I like superhero movies, but I never ate up everything they pooped at me. Felt that way during phases 1-3/DCEU era, where audiences would go watch a superhero movie just cause it was a superhero movie. But I think audiences are starting to realize now why they never got into comic books to begin with. Too much homework. Major part of the comic book genre strategy is interconnecting stories. That's how I got into Thunderbolts comics years ago, all because of Deadpool. I was reading Deadpool, then I was forced to read Thunderbolts next because Deadpool's story continued there. So then I'm like, okay, I have no knowledge of what happened in Thunderbolts prior to Deadpool intervening. This is the kinda strategy that the movies try to recreate, which worked at first. The problem with this strategy is, it will end up making people feel like they have too much homework. Which is why DC and Marvel comics start a new continuity every few years. The movies are starting to get there too, where they would need to reboot or soft-reboot in order for general audiences to start to feel like they can finally go clean into a superhero movie.
