That's what the rumors, leaks and news seems to be hinting at. TVA, multiverse, original Fox-Men coming back, and also heard an MCU villain from previous MCU movies will return in this. But don't know who.

Yeah they are similar in the since that Deadpool teams up with Wolverine (The Flash and Batman) and will involve the multiverse/time-travel due to Cable's device (MAYBE) and the TVA. But yeah, execution is what matters.

Bunch of leaks have been released. Not going to reveal most of it, in case they are real. Just small details here and there.
- The TVA hates the X-Men universe because the timelines is one big clusterfuck.
- Despite the report above about Matthew Macfayden is playing someone named Paradox, he is actually a TVA version of Bob. It is similar to how John Blake was a nod to Robin in The Dark Knight Rises.
- Cable's absents will be explained.
- Deadpool has to go on a mission for the TVA in order to make up for fucking up the timelines.
- Very heavy X-Men storyline for a Deadpool movie, with MCU ties as well. I'll just leave it at that.
There is way more, but won't share it here in CASE this is true. Still take it with a grain of salt.
