To be fair, that line is a bit ignorant. Wasn't it Kathleen Kennedy that was in charge of shaping the entire Sequel Trilogy? And the main character of that trilogy was also a woman. And supposedly, this movie is being written by Steven Knight. So it's actually being shaped in part by a dude. yes that line was ignorant. Deborah Chow directed Obi Wan Kenobi for Disney + Bryce Dallas Howard did 2 Mando episodes as well and Marcia Lucas literally saved Star Wars with her editing skills. So that Rey director is talking out of her ass

So by trying to speak up for women working on Star Wars, she's actually putting down other women who already have by ignoring them almost entirely.
I don't think she really believes what she said, because if she actually cared about that, she'd already know of the women who have already done exactly that within Star Wars.
Most likely intentional to generate some negative publicity, but this is something Disney doesn't need right now. Their content is already starting to fail and Disney themselves are trying to stop the shitstorm created from what the new Snow White actress said about the new Snow White movie.
Just make a good product, doesn't matter what gender you are, if you make something good and worthwhile then it will stand the test of time regardless of what is or isn't between your legs.

The media really needs to stop feeding into this, or if it was an interview should have asked her about those other women. They are just looking for soundbites and headlines and not being journalist and probing. The entire thing is boring, we are getting way to old to sit and wait for people to make mistakes so we can jump on them.

Words have become weapons nowadays. Remember the pen is mightier than the sword. Now it is the pen is mightier than gun. Everyone is allowed to have opinions except for the people in these soundbites. As usual they did pull quotes from a video. Used zero reference or context and threw it like meat to the wolves.

Ah, an Indiana Jones reference, fitting since that too is Lucasfilm.

There's so much misinformation in that tweet that it's actually laughable.
Not trying to defend anyone but here are the actual facts:
1. "The Force Is Female" was a slogan on a shirt worn by Kathleen Kennedy at a film festival to help support the people at the festival. It's nothing to do with Star Wars being "Woke" or even about Star Wars at all. That shirt slogan is used way too much to push an agenda or form an idealized opinion about Star Wars that is not based in reality and is constantly taken out of its original intent and context to push fake agendas.
2. Bob Iger had nothing to do with the new film director saying that line. Disney cannot control what is actively said about a project by someone involved in said project, Just look at all the shit the Snow White actress said about the upcoming Snow White movie, which is huge evidence to the contrary, although she has since been silenced it seems. Why would Disney silence something that they "want"? They don't. People just wrongly assume the opposite.
3. "You can't solve a problem from the mind which created it." To that I agree, it doesn't seem possible to solve this misinformation problem from the mind of the person who is literally using out of context information and creating BS to push a hot take opinion that has no actual facts to back it up.

Added that the data is coming from an article that target that quote and ignored the rest of the interview. People are getting endorphins from this stuff, there is no other way they keep this up.

Basically, someone who is misinformed is reacting to more misinformation, with an opinion that also has a lack of real information supporting it.
And they say the movies are what's make-believe.

It is always funny that these people complain about being silenced, why trying to silence others. All of this stuff is a running joke. The aliens are out there laughing at us. Also watching the video, it was edited. So she could have gone into more detail. Yet that does not matter because they got their quote and soundbite to keep them warm with anger for the winter.

Yes I notice that as well. A lot of times people who go on a whining spree regarding their opinions and how they are not accepted and are ignored/silenced, often are hypocritical because they don't like the opinions of others and often tell them to "just shut up" because they think their opinion is wrong and BS.
At the end of the day, what goes around comes around. Suck it up buttercup.

If my team does it, there is no issue if your team does it they should be punished. There is no way to counter that though process.

"Chinoy replies, "Oh, absolutely. I like to make men uncomfortable. I enjoy making men uncomfortable ... it is important to be able to look into the eyes of a man and say, 'I am here' and recognize that. And recognize that I am working to bring something that makes you uncomfortable, and it should make you uncomfortable because you need to change your attitude." another unearthed clip from the Rey director she seems nice . Man Kathleen really knows how to pick them www.newsweek.com/sharmeen-obaid-chinoy-director-star-wars-disney-boycott-1857598

Let's put that comment into context and look at the question that was asked.
n the video, Chinoy is asked during a Women in the World Foundation panel, "What is the balance of activating a force for change, but also trying to permeate that patriarchy, that power structure, and is that a part of the calculation of your art as well and what's been the reaction to that?"
Chinoy replies, "Oh, absolutely. I like to make men uncomfortable. I enjoy making men uncomfortable ... it is important to be able to look into the eyes of a man and say, 'I am here' and recognize that. And recognize that I am working to bring something that makes you uncomfortable, and it should make you uncomfortable because you need to change your attitude.
Then lets think about how the response to it, is exactly what she was talking about. Then remember that ART at times should make you uncomfortably. Then lets think about how others do not want to be judge on their past comments, and everyone has the First Amendment rights of Free Speech. Etc etc etc.

Star war been dead long before. I remember people genuinely liked Rey from 2015-2017, but they ruined that lol.

I liked how they were setting up Rey, but they ruined it with The Rise of Skywalker. So us hating on Rey has NOTHING to do with gender like Disney wants people to believe.
