I can't believe I'm saying this....
Thor: The Dark World > Thor: Love and Thunder

I actually do agree with you on this, but I was never a Dark World hater anyway.

I haven't seen Love and Thunder yet, but I can imagine. Because I always use to say without Loki, The Dark World would have been a complete bore fest. This one doesn't have Loki in it, so yeah. On the other hand, this movie has Guns N Roses.

I did enjoy Love and Thunder more than The Dark World. Opinions vary.

I have a slightly nostalgic appreciation for Dark World since it was one of the live-action films I saw in theaters.
But yeah, wasn't a fan of how "grounded" they made Thor and Asgard in it. That and it's probably responsible for them deciding to make Thor "Diet GOTG"..

I didn't mind the different tone, but they definitely drove the humor way past 100% trying way too hard to make one liners and quotable memes within the movie.

Is Thor really grounded, though? He's actually distracting in the MCU, considering the more down to earth (no pun intended) movies like Captain America and Iron Man are. You can still have aliens and be grounded. But gods existing should be a big deal, yet they treat the Thor mythos like a cartoon in the MCU.

It's surprising that Thanos turned out as epic as he did considering.

Ok, that doesn't work. Ragnarok > Thor > Dark World > Love and Thunder

I'd say Ragnarok > Thor > Love and Thunder > The Dark World Despite Love and Thunder's flaws, it's better than watching this:

Eh, they kept trying to explain the mythos with "science" and they also had the Dark Elves with laser guns and giant dark spaceships. Felt like they were taking it too seriously. And then you have the opposite extreme with Taika and Russos treating everything Thor like a joke............

Magic can't really be explained by science so the movie wasted time with that BS. That time could've been better served making the movie better.

I think Marvel intended to treat the Thor movies more like Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings-ish. That didn't exactly work. So they decide to change the tone into something more like rock n roll comedies. Thor seems like a very tricky character to adapt. I think Marvel is going to completely retire the character once Chris Hemsworth leaves the MCU.
